Post subject: 1989 Ford Crown Victoria LX

Question I have a 1989 Ford Crown Victoria LX. I have an AOD transmission and overdrive no longer works. It shifts fine in all other gears, but once the car reaches about 40 mph it whines out, but the car still accelerates. Do you think I should replace the transmission, overhaul it or could it just be the overdrive band needs replacing?

Crown Vic/Grand Marquis traction control - Does anyone know what type of traction control is used on the 2003 and newer Crown Victoria and Grand Marquis. GM Saturns use a lower cost system that takes about a second to respond on an icy road since it cuts fuel and spark to the engine. High dolla...
