Your first mistake is to assume the Ford Dealership has mechanics that would
be experts on 1988 Ford Broncos. Most of their staff were most likely in
grade school when this vehicle was manufactured. In automobile years, you
bought a dinosaur.
A better bet might be to ask around if there are any Ford "experts" in the
area, like retired Ford Dealership mechanics that work for a little
additional income...or maybe someone belonging to a local 4X4 club.
