I can't seem to drain all the oil out. I jack it up on one side, and I can
only get 3 quarts drained out.

I have over-filled sometimes putting in the 3rd quart.

What's the trick?

Try letting it drain overnight. Sometimes that's good for another 1/2
quart or so. If you are really concerned about it, take off the oil
pan and see if there is anything obstructing the drain hole opening
inside the pan. There could be some built up sludge on a vehicle that
old.

The problem is that you only jack up one side. You need to turn the
car over on it's top. They make a special cradle you can get at
AutoZonedOut to hold it without denting the top.

Are you really that stupid or are you just a troll?

Drain in center.
Oil pan flat.
Put car in a tilt, oil drains to one side.

Think about this stuff and the answer will usually come to you. If
you're a troll, then screw you.

Um, this car only holds 3.5 QTS. Three come out of the crankcase, and .5
comes out with the filter...

Check the manual to make sure, but I believe the 3A-C holds less than
4 QTS.

Well, actually, the filter I use holds about 8 ounces. I use the Mobil one
because the oil stays yellow for so long.

I now own a 1985 Tercel wagon - It needs to be timed. Other than that, it's in great shape for 235,000 miles. 27 mpg before I even get started. Funny thing: The sweet spot on the ecellerator is somewhere in the middle; when I put the pedal to the floor it will go into passing gear,....
