Just bought a 1984 Toyota Corolla 1.8 ltr diesel from the grandson of the original owner. 92,000 original miles. It developed a fuel leak so he took it to a mechanic. He had a timing chain installed and the injection pump rebuilt. Said it ran for two weeks then stopped running. Not sure if it was the work performed by the shop or not.
It cranks but won't start. The filter light is on so I followed the owner's manual and drained the fuel filter.
"Filter" light stays on... cranks but won't start.
I'm new to diesels... Any ideas?
