1982 300CD Tranny dtat replacement

Intermitant relay(?) failure produces switching sounds from under the
hood (driverside-front &

behind the instrument cluster, after which, radio must be re-pre-set,
suggesting total power
loss.

Most likely it's a loose battery connection. It migth be a bad relay - swap
a similar one and see of the trouble follows the relay but my money is on
loose battery connections.

Take them off, clean them within an inch of it's life, then reattach them
tightly.
