Post subject: 1977 autobox problem

hi guys,

i've just got a 1977 clubman 998cc auto.
it seems to crash into gear from neutral to drive and vice versa. reverse too. the car drives fine. the oil needs changing but it is at max mark on dipstick.
it has a very strong creep too, if left in gear at the lights. is this normal? i am new to mini autos obviously and dont know if this is normal or not.

any ideas on the crashing feel though because that isnt right im sure.

dan.
