I am looking at a '76 300D with 59,000 miles in perfect condition. What flaws should I look for? Is $5,000 US a reasonable price? gmcop1
« $5K is a bit steep. She better be cherry with origional paint and all maint records. You can't do a CarFax on the VIN (too old and the VIN.. »

I have a 78 300D Benz and I Have oil getting into my air cleaner box where the air filter is. My dad and I rebuilt the vaccum pump figure that was the problem but it wasn't because I still have oil ..
« The pipe that has the oil in it - does it come from the vacuum pump or the top of the valve cover? If from the vacuum pump do you suspect.. »

Does such a factory-born beast exist? Some "guru" guy says no, 1981 is earliest 300D Turbo. True? C

1991 Mercedes 300D - The #4 cylinder is has a low pinging or knocking at idle but the noise stops when I hit the accelerator. Anybody knows what the problem can be? Please advise.
