| 147 - Sat nav problems - The sat nav on my alfa is having problems. It is working fine - until about 10 mins and then goes through a cycle of switching itself and then stays off. Swithcing it back on and it does the same thing. I took it into the dealer who said..
156 SW headlights problems - Hi, I just found out that sometimes when turning left (while the turns off !! After I turn off the signaling it turns back on again !! And it's only when turning left (and not each time). Does anyone else have this problem ? MJ
selespeed problems - Hi folks, I've got a beautiful 156 selespeed 2000 vintage but...I can't get into 4th gear. Problem I've got is if I change up it goes 1,2,3 then misses 4 and into 5. If I try and change down from 5 it loses the plot and revs a bit and then stays in 5.
gearbox problems - i have a 147 with semi auto gearbox. it tends to change gear at funny times in auto mode, & the 'paddles' dont worh anymore? is there any experts in the west midlands uk? roy

On my 2000 156 1.8 Sportswagon my hydraulic tank leaked heavily so I
took it to service. After fixing the leak the guy told me that also
the steering assembly leaked and had to be replaced.
He said it was a common problem w. that model and year. Is this just
an excuse to let me bleed a quite awesome sum or is he onto something
here?

I can't recall many people reporting the same issue, but I could be

Nah..I'm way out of my experience zone. The only time I was in a
Sprint (a long time ago) I wasn't fit to stand (and neither was the
driver!). I don't recall ever seeing a 116 let alone knowing how it
drives. Go on..do tell.. I hope it's not as obvious as the 116..

Nope. The Sprint. It's truly lovely to drive. Engine just keeps pulling
and pulling, and the control is just sublime.
116 is OK, but requires rather more persuasion, particularly with that
heavy lump at the front.

I had the same problem, a pinhole in the hydraulic pipe was allowing fluid
to escape on my '99 156 2.0L, wasn't too expensive. My colleague had the
same problem on his 2001 156. It must be common for the age.
