I keep thinking I want to see how fast my 2.5L V6 Alfa 156 can go without
getting nicked for speeding.

Are trackdays - wherever they are? - suitable for this?

I just want a relatively safe environment to give it a bit of a thrash.

Has anyone got any suggestions for venues/events.

I live in Herefordshire, miles from anywhere really.

tia - David.

www.motorsport-events.com

They run airfield and track days around the Bath area, with one also
coming up at Pembrey.

Forget about finding out what the top speed is, though - I've done 3
events with them and never seen the naughty side of 100mph.

However, I've learned a hell of a lot about what the car is capable of
in the twisty bits.

If you want to find the top speed, I can recommend the M50 (allegedly)
in the small hours of the morning (apparently).

Or maybe an excuse for a European holiday involving unrestricted Autobahn!

Thanks for the info Steve,
Last time I was on the M50 I was going to the Upton on Severn Blues
Festival. Just managed to get off at Junction2 before the M50 became a
6-lane roof-high river. It was incredible. Many cars floated down the
motorway. I was stuck for 10-hours with the wife in the car!!! It was not
good!
Cheers, David

M6 Toll road appears not to have a speed limit on it...well it didn't
last Friday anyway.

Yeah - great stretch of road when you get it quiet. Nice surface and plenty
of space. I was told off by the misses when we reached 120! Car was handling
great though and a stab on the accellerator told me there was plenty still
there! 2002 156 2.0 JTS.
