i can't find specs for boxer engines' gearboxes? Plenty specs for TS but
none for boxer.

I would like to see differences, if any, between 1.3, 1.6 and 1.7 16v
gearbox ratios.

Don't *think* there were any, but SteveH will be along in a minute, I'm
sure.

Unfortunately, I can't help with that.

I do know the 1.7ie and 1.7 16v were the same box and the ratios were
the same as thos in the 1.7 carburettor cars, but they didn't have the
speedo sensor in them, ISTR.

Not very helpful, I know, but my boxer days are years ago now.

too bad Sad

i got a new gearbox in my 146 1.6 boxer, but i think the 5th gear might be
shorter than it was, so I suspect I have been fitted with a gearbox from a
1.3 l engine... so I wanted to see if 1.3l's gearbox was actually shorter
than the one from 1.6l. And possibly replace the 5th gear.

I didn't even know a 1.3 boxer was ever fitted to the 146. We certainly
didn't get anything under 1.6 in the UK.

Blimey, that must have been a tad slow.

This may help:

http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/KeithandCharlotte/gearbox.htm

It doesn't detail the 1.3 boxer in the 145/146 range, but looking at it,
suggests that every box, other than the diesel box, has the same 5th
gear ratio. There are surprisingly few differences throughout all the
ratios, actually.

From whatever I know there was a 1.3 version without a cat only available to
countries where the law regarding to environment was a little more 'loose'
than in other places in (I guess) Europe.

In The Netherlands the smallest engine was the 1.4 boxer. (starting from
1995 for the 145 and 1996 for the 146).

Best regards, Schimanski.

1351ccm (or 1352ccm, cant remember) is the engine, 1.3 or 1.4 is the
variable designation depending on the market. Boxer engines.

TSs come in different sizes, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8 and 2.0 (qv).
