Have 99 S-10 2wd. Have trouble getting it started turns over but wont start have to turn key severeal times in order to get it started. Once on runs smooth. Didnt use for 3 days now doesnt want to start. Changed fuel pump and fuel filter.

another thing you can try to do is go take your starter and get it
tested ,it sounds like it is starting to give out ,another too is how
old is your battery ,most battery manufacturers recommend to change
them out every 2-3 years ,you can get the battery checked too and see as
well, even if you just bought it 6 months ago it is best to eliminate it
as a possibility and also see about getting your charging system checked
same reason just to eliminate or confirm ,in my experience the three
major components that fail are the starters and the alternator ,these
are 2 items that will eventually start getting weak at about 60-100,000
,thats why I suggest that after the vehicle hits 60+ thousand miles go
take your vehicle to get checked out about every 6 months ,they will
tell you that a certain part is starting to go or just a lil under
normal operating range ,you dont have to have them replace it if you
know you can handle it replace the part yourself .
