While at the WI State Fair today - stopped at a Toyota booth and was
pleasantly surprised to find factory trained staff working at the
booth. These were not the typical dealer sales weenie who typically
know very little.

Anyway found out today the 07 Tundra's now will not be released until
February because they want to wait until they can introduce the 5.7L
engine. They are tweaking the 4.7L to add some horses and torque.
Also there will be a 4 place 4 door model available with an 8' bed.
THis is not the crew cab but 4 real doors and not the "suicide" doors.

Asked the factory guy when diesel - his answer was it could be in 2
years if the pick up segment starts to sell/grow again but if it
remains as dull as it is now - they will work on other product areas.

Yup it was last winter I think when I stopped at a Toyota dealer and
asked to see one of their pick up's with an 8' bed - the sales dummy
said - "Toyota does not make a pick up with an 8' bed". Picked up a
sales brochure on his desk and show it to him - felt like telling him
to go to GM, Ford or DC and get a job.
