Post subject: 04 WRX engine cranks but won't start

Hello everyone - I'm new to this forum and couldn't find this particular problem when searching, I hope this isn't a repeat...

My husband's 04 WRX Turbo will not start. When turning the key, the engine very slowly cranks and then begins to click and then shuts off. This started a few days ago but has started normally after the second or 3rd try until today. He's tried to start it several times with the same slow crank, clicking, then shut off.

I should also mention that the temperature in our area just fell into the 20's this week, and today we are experiencing our first snowfall of the season, which is why we haven't called a tow truck. I don't know if the temperature has any affect, especially since we have had this vehicle for 7 years and never had any issues before, cold weather or otherwise. The engine is also automatic if that makes any difference.

Any advice is much appreciated!!!

Motul Gear 300 for WRX 5-sp? - I've heard good things about Motul Gear 300 75W90 gear lube, and I'm thinking of trying some for my 2004 WRX. I'm currently using Red Line 75W90NS, which went in at less than 4K miles (It's approaching 15K miles). The Red Line seems to be better than..
