Post subject: 02-03 Mazda Protege ELE error code P0300

hi, I have this mazda protege with about 100k miles; had the spark plugs replaced and the O2 sensor, but the car still runs rough- like it idles rough-need to stay in the gas a little to keep the rpms up so it wont conk-out.

Is it that it just needs a tune-up, or could it be the cam sensor is going bad, or the heater coils? Any help on this code will be appreciated.
