Post subject: 01 Pathfinder won't exceed 2000rpm

I have a 01 Pathfinder w\ 89,000est. miles on it. it won't exceed 2000rpm in any drive condition.(park;rev;etc) Idles, starts, and drives smooth until it reaches 2000rpm.I've added injector cleaner, changed fuel filter, pcv valve, swirl control valve, and even had the pump tested. I witnessed someone spray ether in the air intake duct and when that was done it run normal.(exceeded 2000rpm) The trouble codes were previously erased and all it's giving me now is 1612. Can anyone help me w\me troubles?
