This was a test drive of a 2001 I was looking to buy.

The rear differential needs a fluid change every 50,000 Km (30,000 Mi)
or it will make sick sounds when doing tight left-hand turns at low
speed. You have to use a litre of Dual Pump Fluid, and it's a 30 minute
DIY job. No special tools required.

The owner's manual is incorrect about the interval for that item.

CRV Valve Adjustment - I brought my 98 CRV in for an oil change and he strongly suggested I do a valve adjustment because they tend to tighten up and burn in this engine. This struck me as strange for a few reasons. I had a 89 civic si and sold it with 180,000 miles on it.....

CRV rear differential fluid - The dealer sugggested I change the rear differential fluid to solve this clunking noise I am hearing when I drive in reverse. Can anybody tell me what kind of gear oil I need? Can I get it from an auto parts store, or does it have to come from Honda...
