1991 crx

my stepson has a 1991 crx. his heater isn't working, and he says its
something broken in the dash panel. however, a dealership want $400 for a
new one, and he hasn't been able to locate one from a salvage yard. any
help in locating one would be appreciated.

I've seen one or two of these break the control shaft gear or some of the
parts related to it.
